ARTICLE SUBMISSION

Airo publishes articles from all fields of ornithology, preferentially from studies performed in the Iberian Peninsula, Macaronesia archipelagos and Portuguese-speaking African countries. The articles can be written in either Portuguese or English but English is preferred and the editorial board reserves the right to request authors to translate the article into English. The article submission should be sent by email to spea@spea.pt with the reference “Airo submission” in the subject. The editorial board will return a submission receipt and will contact at least two experts for reviewing the article or short note.

The article's acceptance will depend on these experts' reviews. Authors will be contacted about the acceptance/ rejection decision (with or without required changes) within three months. Articles with the required changes should be returned before the deadline set by editorial board. Before being published online, authors will receive a pdf draft. At this stage, only typographic corrections will be accepted. Once the revision process is concluded the article will be immediately published online at the journal website, and assigned to a Volume that reunites all articles from one year.
